Mr Godfrey Binaisa's estranged wife Tomoko Yamamoto left her husband's Muyenga residence and sought sanctuary at a professor's place at Makerere University, a source close to the family told Daily Monitor on Thursday.
She left and took refuge at a professor's place along Pool Road at Makerere University," the source said.
EVICTED: Yamamoto
When the Daily Monitor visited the said house on Thursday afternoon, it could not establish whether Yamamoto was inside.
I don't know whom you are asking for, said a young lady, whom this reporter met in the compound, who ran back into the house laughing.
The sources said the professor is a member of the Unification Church also known as Moonies and Yamamoto belongs to the same church.
Binaisa, a former president, told Yamamoto last week to leave as their marriage fell apart.
He cited irreconcilable differences that led to the collapse of their marriage.
Yamamoto, 65, who was due to travel to South Korea to attend a conference of the Reverend Moon's Unification church on Thursday is reportedly still in country.
Evicted
A close family source said lawyer Erias Lukwago and court bailiffs evicted Yamamoto from Binaisa's Muyenga house on Tuesday.
Lukwago said, She left the house but I understand she is still in the country.
In a statutory declaration dated July 22, Binaisa asked Yamamoto to vacate his premises on William Kalema Drive, Muyenga and henceforth cease to use his surname of Binaisa.
He also paid her $30,000 in cash as a final settlement to facilitate her transport and resettlement costs from Kampala, Uganda to Ohio in the United States of America.
Binaisa met Yamamoto on July 26, 2004 by satellite link in front of followers of the Unification Church in Ohio.
They later hosted guests to a lavish reception at Speke Resort Munyonyo on December 16, 2004.
